Taliban Foreign Ministry to Start Official Document Verification in 10 Districts

The Taliban-led Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced the launch of an official document verification process, aimed at what it calls ‘facilitating consular services,’ in 10 districts across the country. According to the announcement, citizens will be able to send their documents for verification to the Ministry or its provincial offices through Afghan Post branches in the designated districts starting from the 1st of Asad 1405 in the Persian calendar.
Hafiz Zia Ahmad Takal, the Head of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry, wrote on his X (formerly Twitter) page on Sunday, July 19, that the goal of this initiative is to provide easier access to consular services for citizens living in areas far from central locations.
He stated that these services will be launched in the following districts: Sarobi and Qarabagh in Kabul, Spin Boldak in Kandahar, Shindand in Herat, Kaldar or Hairatan in Balkh, Momandara or Torkham in Nangarhar, Gereshk in Helmand, Imam Sahib in Kunduz, Jaghori in Ghazni, and Samkani in Paktia.
The Taliban administration added that once the verification process is complete, the documents will be returned to applicants via the same Afghan Post offices. This move comes amid widespread complaints from district residents over the past years about the centralization of consular services in provincial centers and the difficulties they face traveling to these locations.
