Ghor Police Destroy Over 28 Tons of Narcotics and Chemical Substances
The Ghor Police Command announced the destruction of more than 28 tons of narcotics and related chemical substances in the province, an action described by the authority as part of ongoing efforts to curb drug production and trafficking.
Molavi Abdulrahman Badri, spokesperson for the Ghor Police Command, stated that these consignments, after being seized in the provincial center and its districts, were burned in the presence of an official delegation in a remote area away from residential zones.
According to him, the destroyed materials included 33 kilograms of opium, 4 kilograms of hashish, 1.7 kilograms of methamphetamine (commonly referred to as glass), 779.2 kilograms of “Type F” substances, 10,150 kilograms of yama (a chemical compound), 4,405 kilograms of lime, 12,900 kilograms of soda, 600 liters of oxal, 496 liters of unidentified chemical substances, and 2 liters of alcohol.
The spokesperson emphasized that the Ghor Police Command remains committed to combating the production, storage, and trafficking of narcotics and has further measures planned in this regard. Ghor province, located in central Afghanistan, has previously reported cases of narcotics seizures and destructions.
