Da Afghanistan Bank Stresses Expansion of Microfinance Guarantee Facilities

Da Afghanistan Bank has announced that in a meeting between Sediqullah Khalid, the First Deputy of the bank, and Derek Joseph Teisen, Deputy of the Afghanistan Credit Guarantee Foundation (ACGF), emphasis was placed on providing increased facilities to guarantee micro, small, and medium-sized financing.

According to the bank, the meeting also discussed granting non-repayable assistance and expanding technical cooperation with banks and financial institutions across the country. The First Deputy of Da Afghanistan Bank stated that the institution is striving to create a “transparent and standardized” working environment to strengthen the financial sector and facilitate citizens’ access to financing.

He also urged officials of the Afghanistan Credit Guarantee Foundation to deliver financing services without discrimination and equally across all regions of the country.

In response, the Deputy of the Afghanistan Credit Guarantee Foundation provided information regarding the organization’s current activities and future plans. He called for expanded technical cooperation, implementation of joint programs, and signing of memorandums of understanding with Da Afghanistan Bank.

The Afghanistan Credit Guarantee Foundation is an international development organization that operates in guaranteeing financing for micro, small, and medium-sized institutions and providing technical services to financial institutions. Both parties concluded the meeting by emphasizing continued cooperation in financial inclusion and support for the private sector.
