Veterinary Training Program for 40 Vets from 13 Provinces Launched in Parwan

A training program for 40 veterinary doctors from 13 provinces of Afghanistan has commenced in Parwan province. Mawlawi Sadr Azam Osmani, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock at the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock under Taliban administration, stated at the opening ceremony that strengthening professional capacities in the livestock sector is one of the ministry’s top priorities.
The Ministry’s press office announced that the program is organized by the Holland Committee and aims to improve the practical and theoretical skills of veterinary doctors. According to the Deputy Minister, the primary focus is on enhancing the economic and livelihood conditions of farmers and livestock owners by providing better animal health services.
He emphasized that participants must offer veterinary services to livestock owners in their respective areas after completing the training course. Officials from the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Health, the Livestock Directorate, and the Agriculture Directorate of Parwan also attended the event and stressed the importance of specialized training to improve the quality of veterinary services.
According to provided information, this training course combines both practical and theoretical approaches, and graduates will serve in animal treatment and health services in their provinces. It was also stated that since the launch of veterinary training programs, the Holland Committee has trained and equipped approximately 1,559 individuals to work in the country’s livestock sector.
