Taliban Says It Seized Nine Weapons in Sar-e Pol’s Sancharak District

The Taliban administration says it has discovered and seized nine weapons in Sancharak district of northern Sar-e Pol province.

According to Maulawi Moaz Farooqi, the district police chief of Sancharak, the weapons were found in various parts of the district during operations carried out over the past month. He said the weapons were being kept illegally by several people.

Based on information provided by Taliban officials, the seized weapons include two Kalashnikov rifles, one M16 rifle and six pistols.

Sancharak district is part of Sar-e Pol province in northern Afghanistan. Sar-e Pol is among the provinces where security incidents and armed group activity have been reported in some areas in recent years.
