Taliban’s Ministry of Public Works Oversees Infrastructure Projects in Nuristan and Kunar

The Taliban administration’s Ministry of Public Works has announced that Mullah Mohammad Isa Thani, acting head of the ministry, inspected several infrastructure projects in the provinces of Nuristan, Kunar, and Laghman. He directed the relevant officials to accelerate the work process and maintain quality according to established standards.
According to information provided by the ministry’s media office to Bakhtar News Agency, he visited the Kamdish–Bargmatal road project in Nuristan, the Kunar–Nuristan road, several internal roads in Kunar, the Pashd and Zeribaba bridges, and the new Dezarat bridge in Laghman.
Currently, construction of the second lane of the 50-kilometer Kamdish–Bargmatal road is underway, including the building of several bridges and retaining walls along this highway. This route is considered one of the mountainous and difficult-to-pass roads of eastern Afghanistan, and its completion is expected to facilitate the movement of local residents.
Project implementation teams have assured that the work will be completed on time and in accordance with international road construction standards. However, in recent years, several infrastructure projects in the country have faced delays and a lack of transparency. The Taliban administration is expected to be accountable regarding budget expenditures and implementation quality to ensure these projects genuinely benefit local communities.
