International Red Cross Provides Cash Aid to 400 Vulnerable Women in Balkh Province

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Afghanistan announced that it has provided and distributed cash assistance to 400 vulnerable women in Balkh province. This aid targets pregnant and breastfeeding women in Mazar-i-Sharif, the provincial capital.

On Sunday, July 19, the organization stated on its X page that the distribution process was carried out in collaboration with the Afghan Red Crescent Society. According to the committee, the main focus of this program was to support women facing difficult economic conditions.

The International Committee of the Red Cross said the purpose of providing this aid is to meet the urgent needs of pregnant and breastfeeding women and to improve the nutritional status of these women and their children. The organization emphasized that such support can play a significant role in reducing health risks caused by malnutrition among mothers and children.
