Kabul University Seminar Examines Human, Ethical, and Social Dimensions of Jeffrey Epstein Case

On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, Kabul University held an academic seminar titled “A Look at the Activities of the International Epsteinism Network,” which explored the human, ethical, and social aspects of the controversial Jeffrey Epstein case. The case, which involves allegations of sexual abuse of children and connections with influential political and economic figures, including Donald Trump, has once again raised serious questions about the credibility of Western human rights claims and the transparency of related institutions.

The seminar, attended by Kabul University students, addressed issues such as child sexual abuse, sexual exploitation, and moral deviance, with speakers condemning these actions as contrary to Islamic teachings and ethical principles. Emphasis was also placed on the case highlighting the stark contradiction between the human rights rhetoric of some Western circles and their actual practices.

Ahmad Javed Shakeeb, a faculty member at Kabul University and presenter of the seminar, stated that the goal of the event was to enhance students’ scientific and intellectual awareness and to provide a platform for critical discussion about the gap between Western human rights claims and the existing realities. Furthermore, the seminar stressed the necessity of a thorough and scientific study of the released documents to distinguish substantiated claims from unverified ones.

The Epstein case, involving the American financier accused of sex trafficking and abuse of underage girls, has become highly controversial due to his connections with some powerful political and economic figures. Recently, on October 26, 2026, Democratic members of the US House Judiciary Committee released a report highlighting Donald Trump’s connection to the case and called for an independent investigation.

The holding of this seminar at Kabul University also reflects widespread concerns about the lack of accountability for powerful individuals and the weak oversight of responsible institutions in Western countries, which have repeatedly faced ethical and human rights criticisms.
