Access to Clean Water in Nuristan Schools Reduces Concerns Over Waterborne Diseases

Students at the Walant High School in Nuristan province have expressed their happiness due to improved access to clean water. Providing safe water creates an environment conducive to children’s growth and health, while reducing the threat of waterborne diseases. UNICEF Afghanistan, in collaboration with the European humanitarian aid agency ECHO Asia, is working to improve drinking water conditions in the province. This initiative gives children the opportunity to grow and live healthy lives without worrying about water-related illnesses.
