UNDP to Establish 75 Solar-Powered Greenhouses Across Five Afghan Provinces

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced that in the next phase of its economic recovery project, it will launch 75 solar-powered greenhouses in five provinces of Afghanistan. This initiative is designed to create sustainable livelihood opportunities for vulnerable families and enhance their income.
In a statement released on Thursday, October 28, UNDP emphasized that the primary goal of this project is to promote sustainable agriculture and improve the living conditions of rural households. This effort could lead to increased income and reduce economic pressures on vulnerable communities.
Most rural families in Afghanistan depend on agriculture, but economic constraints and limited job opportunities have exacerbated their livelihood challenges. The establishment of these greenhouses can help improve the economic situation and self-sufficiency of these families.
Through this project, UNDP aims to support green agriculture and clean energy while providing long-term solutions to Afghanistan’s employment and poverty crisis.
