Two-Hour Armed Clash Between Indian and Pakistani Forces in Kashmir

India and Pakistan military forces engaged in an intense two-hour exchange of fire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Rajouri sector of the Kashmir region, according to Indian news network NDTV. The incident occurred along the disputed border between the two countries.

According to the report, Indian forces claimed to have prevented the infiltration of militant elements across their borders. Pakistani officials have not yet released any official further details regarding the incident.

This event is considered the largest exchange of fire between the two sides since the ceasefire declared in May 2025, a ceasefire that was established after increased military tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.

The recent tensions trace back to developments in April 2025, when India launched a military operation targeting armed militant positions inside Pakistan following an explosion in the town of Pahalgam in Kashmir. That operation triggered a fresh wave of clashes between the militaries of the two countries.

The Kashmir region has long been a major flashpoint between India and Pakistan, and any conflict in this area raises concerns about escalating instability in South Asia.
