India Donates 1,500 Tents to Expelled Afghan Migrants for Shelter

The Indian Embassy in Kabul has donated 1,500 tents worth approximately 22.6 million Afghanis to the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations to be used for housing returning migrants.

The press office of the ministry announced that the handover ceremony of this aid was held with the presence of representatives from the Indian Embassy and officials from the Ministry of Refugees. According to the ministry, these tents are part of India’s humanitarian assistance to address the urgent needs of returned families.

The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations added that the donated tents will be distributed transparently and fairly after assessing areas and identifying families in need. Many families who have recently returned to the country face shortages of shelter and basic facilities.
