UNHCR High Commissioner Meets Media and Stakeholders in Kabul to Discuss Afghan Returnees

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced that during her visit to Kabul, the agency’s High Commissioner met with media representatives, diplomatic missions, and non-governmental organizations to discuss the situation of Afghan returnees.

On Wednesday, July 8, UNHCR stated on its X (formerly Twitter) page that these meetings aimed to strengthen coordination and expand cooperation for effective support of returnees.

According to the commissioner, the main focus of these consultations was to address the urgent needs of migrants who, after years of residing outside the country, have returned to Afghanistan and are now facing livelihood and service challenges.

UNHCR also expressed appreciation for the cooperation of domestic and international partners in supporting these families and emphasized the continuation of joint efforts to provide humanitarian aid and essential services across various regions.
