Canal Construction Begins on Herat Telecommunications Road

The Herat Municipality has announced the commencement of construction on the southern canal along Telecommunications Road in the second corridor of the city’s third district. More than four million Afghanis from the municipality’s development budget have been allocated for this project.
According to officials, the project will span 950 meters in length and 0.9 meters in width. It is scheduled to be completed and operational within three months. The entire cost of the project is being funded by the Herat Municipality’s development budget.
Khan Mohammad Yousufzai, spokesman for the Herat Municipality, stated that the project aims to better manage surface water, prevent road damage, and improve urban infrastructure in this part of the city.
Telecommunications Road is considered one of the important urban routes in Herat, and municipal officials expressed hope that upon completion of the canal, issues related to flooding and road damage in the area will decrease.
