Bus overturns in Pakistan’s Punjab, killing 10 and injuring 44

At least 10 people were killed and 44 others injured after a passenger bus overturned in Rajanpur district in Pakistan’s Punjab province. The incident occurred around Wednesday evening, October 21, when the bus lost control and overturned after hitting a roadside curb.
According to reports, the victims included seven men, two women and one girl. Of the injured, 38 are being treated at a local hospital, while four seriously wounded people have been transferred to Dera Ghazi Khan city hospital.
Local police officials said the main cause of the crash was the bus driver, whose speeding and carelessness led to the tragedy. The driver fled the scene after the accident.
Traffic accidents, particularly on highways in Pakistan’s Punjab province, remain a major challenge to road safety because of violations of traffic rules and persistent driver negligence.
