IOM Builds School in Sarharud District to Educate 1,294 Children

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced the construction of a school in Sarharud district of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan. Once completed, the project will provide educational opportunities for 1,294 children.

In a report published on Wednesday, July 8, the organization stated that students will attend classes in two shifts. The school’s operation will significantly improve access to education services for children in the area.

According to the information provided, implementing this project not only strengthens educational infrastructure but also offers temporary employment for 27 local residents.

The IOM emphasized that the program aims to support the people of Sarharud district and increase children’s access to education. Nangarhar, located in eastern Afghanistan, faces a significant challenge in some districts due to a shortage of educational facilities.
