Afghan Water Utility Chief Travels to India to Inspect Wastewater Systems

Ghulam Rahman Kazim, chief executive of the Afghan Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Company, has travelled to India for a 14-day visit, which the company says is aimed at familiarising itself with modern wastewater management and treatment methods.

The Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Company said the programme will include visits to government departments, private companies and operational wastewater treatment projects in India.

According to the company, the purpose of these visits is to identify new technologies and draw on relevant experience in wastewater management and treatment, taking into account Afghanistan’s needs and conditions.

The Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Company is responsible for part of Afghanistan’s urban water supply and sewerage services, a sector whose infrastructure development is considered one of the essential needs of the country’s cities.
