Taliban envoy in Doha holds talks with Tanzania ambassador

The Afghan Embassy in Qatar said Mohammad Suhail Shaheen, the Taliban administration’s ambassador in Doha, has met with Habib Awadi Mohammed, Tanzania’s ambassador to Qatar.

According to the embassy, the meeting covered bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Tanzania, as well as trade and economic cooperation and the opening of political missions.

The Afghan Embassy in Qatar did not release further details on the practical outcome of the talks, the possible timing for opening political missions or the level of cooperation discussed.

In recent years, Doha has been one of the main centres of the Taliban administration’s diplomatic activity, and most of its foreign contacts have been pursued through its office and missions in Qatar.
