Taliban Administration Signs 65 New Contracts to Boost Afghanistan’s Electricity Sector
Mullah Abdul Haq Hamkar, the executive head of the Barishna Company under the Taliban administration, announced that 65 new contracts have been signed in the past week aimed at strengthening Afghanistan’s electricity sector.
He made these remarks during the introduction ceremony of the new head of electricity in Maidan Wardak province, stating that electricity is considered one of the essential needs of the people and practical measures to develop this sector will continue.
According to him, efforts are ongoing in power generation and expansion of the electricity network, and more projects are planned to further strengthen this sector.
Barishna Company is the government entity responsible for managing the production, transmission, and distribution of electricity in the country, and its decisions and plans directly affect citizens’ access to electricity services.
