Taliban Administration Confirms Ownership of Over 15,000 Jeribs of Land in Paktika
The Taliban administration has announced that more than 15,000 jeribs of land in the Yousuf Khel district of Paktika province have been officially registered as property of the Emirate, and occupants must hand them over to the relevant authorities of the administration.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Justice said in a statement on Tuesday that the Special Court for Cases Related to Emirate-Confiscated Lands in the central zone, after reviewing documents, issued a ruling regarding 15,027 jeribs of land located seven kilometers from the village of Mist in Yousuf Khel district. According to the court, all of these lands have been identified as “Baland Aba” (highland water) and are considered part of the Emirate’s property.
Based on the statement, the Commission to Prevent Land Grabbing and Reclaim Confiscated Lands had previously examined the case and, according to Article 17 of the Law on Preventing Land Grabbing, referred it to the Special Court.
The Taliban administration stated that after document review of the occupants, property offices, and receiving information from relevant departments, a final ruling was issued and all lands must be turned over to the commission.
The statement also emphasized that the process of reviewing and reclaiming lands labeled as Emirate-confiscated continues in other provinces as well; a process that in recent months has become one of the Taliban administration’s core programs in land management.
