2.5 Tons of Expired and Low-Quality Food and Medicine Seized from Tegab Markets in Kapisa
The Department of Industry and Commerce of Kapisa Province announced that 2.5 tons of expired and low-quality food and medicine were confiscated from the markets of Tegab district. This operation was carried out following joint inspections by responsible authorities on the market.
Qazi Ahmad Zaki Najib, Head of the Industrial Parks at the department, told Bakhtar Agency that this amount of goods was seized as a result of an investigation by a joint committee comprising the Commission for the Prevention of Hoarding and the Commission for the Prevention of Production, Import, and Sale of Low-Quality and Expired Products.
According to him, during the inspection, traders and vendors were strongly advised to refrain from offering expired and low-quality food and medicines, as these pose health risks to citizens.
He also urged residents to pay close attention to the expiration dates when purchasing food, hygiene products, and medicine. Health experts emphasize that continuous, transparent, and regular market monitoring is essential across provinces to prevent the recurrence of such cases and to ensure public health.
