Faryab Governor Pledges Support for Investment and Trade Development

Mullah Mohammad Hanif Hamza, the governor of Faryab, stated during a meeting with the head of industry and trade and several merchants and industrialists of Maymana city that the local administration supports investment and the expansion of commercial activities and will address the issues raised.
The meeting, attended by private sector officials, focused on expanding trade, strengthening investment, and discussing existing challenges facing economic activities. Merchants and industrialists, highlighting obstacles to their work, called for greater cooperation from the local administration to resolve problems and create a suitable environment for investment.
They emphasized that reducing administrative barriers and improving coordination among relevant departments are essential for the growth of industry and trade in Faryab. They warned that without practical and sustainable measures, the private sector will face serious difficulties.
The governor of Faryab described strengthening the private sector as a key factor in creating job opportunities, boosting the local economy, and improving residents’ livelihoods. He assured that the issues raised will be reviewed in coordination with the relevant departments and necessary actions will be taken to resolve them.
However, economic activists have consistently stressed that fulfilling commitments and establishing a secure environment for investment remain a critical test for the Taliban’s governance at the provincial level. Any delay in addressing the private sector’s demands could hinder economic growth across various districts.
