Construction of 30-Bed Hospital Begins in Wardak Province

The Taliban’s Public Health Directorate has announced the commencement of construction on a 30-bed hospital in the Daimirdad district of Maidan Wardak province. The project, funded with 63.8 million Afghanis from the ministry’s development budget, had its foundation stone laid in a ceremony attended by Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, acting Minister of Public Health of the Taliban administration.

According to ministry officials, establishing healthcare centers in deprived and remote districts is a top priority of their program. The acting minister stated that residents in areas far from the provincial center lack adequate access to standard health services, and building such centers can help fill this gap.

Daimirdad district is considered one of the relatively remote districts of Maidan Wardak, where inhabitants currently must travel to the provincial capital or Kabul for specialist medical treatment. However, some health experts emphasize that merely announcing projects is insufficient; timely completion, proper equipping, and provision of professional staff for such hospitals are essential.

Local residents have welcomed the project’s initiation, viewing it as an important step toward expanding healthcare services in the region. They have expressed hope that once the hospital is completed, access to basic medical services will improve for the community.
