Haqqani urges health institutions in Khost to improve service quality

Sirajuddin Haqqani, acting interior minister of the Taliban administration, has called on health institutions to improve the quality of their services and win the public’s trust in this sector at the opening ceremony of a hospital in Khost province.
According to media close to the Taliban administration, the hospital was built by a Turkish businessman at a cost of nearly $1 million. No further details have been released about its capacity, the type of services it will provide, or how the health facility will be operated.
Haqqani made the remarks at a time when access to standard health services in many Afghan provinces remains one of the people’s basic needs. At the ceremony, he stressed the need for health institutions to improve the quality of their services.
Khost province is located in southeastern Afghanistan and is among the provinces where residents in some cases face a shortage of facilities in accessing specialised health services.
