Israeli Foreign Minister Responds to Ukraine’s Wheat Ship Theft Allegations Amid Rising Regional Tensions

Tensions between Tel Aviv and Kyiv over a wheat-carrying ship have escalated. Israel’s Foreign Minister, in response to Ukraine’s accusations of stealing a wheat shipment, urged Kyiv to present any evidence through official and legal channels. He emphasized that, to date, no documentation has been provided by Ukrainian authorities on this matter.

Gideon Sa’ar stated that Israel adheres to the principles of law and that the claims made should be pursued via proper official institutions. These remarks came after Ukraine accused Israel of involvement in the transfer of a grain ship linked to Russia.

The Israeli Foreign Minister also addressed the situation in Lebanon, claiming that Israel has no intention to expand its military presence or occupy Lebanese territory. According to him, Israel’s military operations on Lebanese soil are defensive in nature.

Sa’ar further noted that if Hezbollah’s infrastructure in southern Lebanon is dismantled, there would be no need for Israel’s ongoing military presence in those areas. These statements come amid ongoing tensions along Israel’s northern borders.
