Taliban Says Abu Hanifa Expo Signals Economic Improvement

Nouruddin Azizi, acting minister of industry and commerce in the Taliban administration, said exhibitions are more than just displays of goods and products, adding that such events can help “strengthen and expand capacities.”

Speaking at the fifth Abu Hanifa National and International Exhibition, he said that despite “restrictions,” Afghanistan’s economy is moving toward improvement and progress.

According to Azizi, the holding of the exhibition shows that the country’s economy has picked up “speed” and that the private sector can invest with confidence.

The Abu Hanifa exhibition is one of the events held with the participation of companies and private sector activists, and Taliban officials refer to it to make their claims about the state of the economy.
