India Accuses Pakistan’s ISI of Orchestrating Red Fort Blast from Afghanistan and Turkey

India’s intelligence agency has accused Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) of coordinating the deadly Red Fort explosion in New Delhi from outside Pakistani territory, specifically from Afghanistan and Turkey, in an effort to conceal the true identities of those involved.

The blast, which killed 12 people and injured dozens more, has been described as one of the most sophisticated attacks in recent years in the Indian capital. Security officials claim that ISI deliberately avoided creating any direct Pakistani footprint in the planning and execution of the attack.

According to Indian authorities, the network involved in the attack, referred to as the “Faridabad module,” was primarily supported and supplied from inside Afghanistan, while Pakistan’s role remained limited and covert. Intelligence sources believe this strategy was employed to avoid international backlash and formal accusations against Islamabad.

India had previously warned that any terrorist attack would be considered an act of hostility and equivalent to a declaration of war. Security analysts note that, given Pakistan’s fragile economic situation and its concern about being placed back on the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) grey list, such a covert operational approach by ISI was expected.

Reports suggest that ISI operatives based abroad, including in Afghanistan, maintained no direct contact with individuals inside India. All communications are said to have occurred through intermediaries and outside Pakistani territory, making it difficult to trace any official involvement back to Islamabad.

India has raised concerns about the strategic use of Afghan territory by ISI to further its intelligence and terrorist operations, calling it a serious threat to regional security and a reflection of the Taliban administration’s lack of capacity or willingness to curb such activities.
