Afghan Man, 24, Charged With Rape in Britain

BBC has reported that a 24-year-old man from Afghanistan will appear in court in Britain over allegations that he raped a 17-year-old girl in Manchester.

According to the report, the man is named Abdul Shinwari and lives in Britain with no fixed address. He is accused of raping the young girl at 1:30 a.m. on July 13 on Hope Street in Manchester.

The report says Abdul Shinwari faces two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of non-fatal strangulation.

According to the BBC, the Afghan national is due to appear at Manchester Crown Court today for the case to be heard. Manchester is one of Britain’s major cities, and the city’s Crown Court deals with serious criminal cases.
