UNICEF Warns Children’s Rights Are Being Overlooked in the Middle East

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has warned that children’s rights are being overlooked amid the ongoing conflicts and violence in the Middle East, and said their protection must be made a priority.

The agency wrote on X on Tuesday, August 25, that “rights do not stop when conflict begins.” UNICEF stressed that children should not be deprived of their fundamental rights in the shadow of war and violence.

According to UNICEF, action must be taken to protect children from the consequences of conflict and violence. The agency also called on people to fulfil their shared responsibility in supporting children’s rights and protecting them in the region.

UNICEF is a United Nations agency focused on protecting children’s rights and welfare around the world, and has repeatedly stressed the immunity of children during wars and crises in humanitarian events.
