Former Israeli PM Bennett Warns of Possible Conflict with Turkey Over Islamic Coalition

Naftali Bennett, the former Prime Minister of Israel, has warned that if Turkey moves forward to form an Islamic coalition, Israel could enter into conflict with Ankara, potentially following a war with Iran. His remarks on Wednesday have sparked widespread media attention.

According to Mehr News Agency citing Al-Nashra, Bennett claimed that any Islamic coalition would be automatically considered a “terrorist” act and a threat against Israel. He added that Tel Aviv would not remain indifferent to such a development.

The former Israeli prime minister had previously expressed concern about Turkey’s attempts to provoke Saudi Arabia against Israel and establish a Sunni axis composed of several countries, including nuclear-armed Pakistan. According to Bennett, Ankara’s aim is to create a coalition network that could jeopardize Israel’s security.

These comments come amid fluctuating and tense political and security relations between Turkey and Israel in recent years. So far, Turkish officials have not responded to these latest statements.
