Taliban say work begins on new transport office building in Takhar

The Taliban administration says construction has begun on a new administrative building for the Takhar provincial road transport directorate, at a cost of nearly 12 million afghani, and that work is now progressing as normal, according to the administration.
According to the Taliban’s Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, the building will be constructed on a 400-square-metre plot and will have three storeys.
The ministry says the project will be completed within the scheduled timeframe and that, once operational, it will provide employees of the directorate with a “regular and calm working environment.”
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is one of the bodies responsible for regulating transport and aviation affairs in Afghanistan, an institution that, alongside construction projects, is also expected to address broader service and infrastructure needs in the transport sector.
