According to officials from the department, a total of 115 tons of produce is expected from bean cultivation on 105 hectares of agricultural land in Kandahar.

Kandahar agriculture officials also described beans as an “alternative crop,” saying the crop is a suitable option for farmers because of its drought resistance and economic benefit.

Based on information provided by the department, the price of one kilogram of beans in the market can reach 1,200 Afghanis. Daman district is located south of Kandahar city and is considered one of the province’s agricultural areas.
