The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment has stressed the need to use Bamiyan’s potential to attract investment.

Sayed Karim Hashemi, head of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, travelled to Bamiyan province at the head of a delegation and met with local officials, traders, investors and representatives of the private sector.

During the meetings, the state of trade and investment in Bamiyan, the province’s economic potential and the problems facing traders and investors were discussed.

According to the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Hashemi emphasised support for the private sector in these meetings and said Bamiyan’s potential in agriculture, industry, trade and tourism should be used to drive economic growth and expand investment.

Bamiyan is one of Afghanistan’s central provinces and, alongside agriculture and livestock, has potential in tourism and some manufacturing activities. However, the activation of this potential has always been seen as dependent on improving the investment climate and addressing the problems of traders.
