Palestinian factions welcome Iran’s stance on ending war in Gaza and Lebanon

The Palestinian Resistance Committees have welcomed the stance of Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaei, stressing the need for an immediate end to the war in Gaza and Lebanon and saying the continued fighting is harmful to the people of the region.

In a statement published by the Shehab news agency, the groups praised Rezaei’s remarks on the need to end the war across the region, including in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. The statement said this position reflects Iran’s support for the peoples of Palestine and Lebanon.

The Palestinian Resistance Committees also said that halting the war, aggression and Israeli crimes in Gaza and Lebanon is in the interest of the region’s future, security and stability. According to the groups, continuing the current situation would only serve plans aimed at destabilising the region and drawing its countries and people into crisis and war.

In another part of the statement, they called on peoples, pro-Palestinian forces, student unions and syndicates around the world to take serious and effective action to stop what they described as genocide, ethnic cleansing, blockade and starvation in Gaza. The groups also stressed the lifting of the blockade, an end to targeting civilians, and meeting the needs of Gaza’s residents.

At the end, the Palestinian Resistance Committees warned that the continuation of global silence and the failure to stop Israeli attacks would amount to providing political cover for the continuation of these events. Since the start of the war, the Gaza Strip has faced a severe blockade and a deep humanitarian crisis, and the issue of a ceasefire and access to humanitarian aid has been one of the main focal points of regional and international reactions.
