Taliban Administration Begins Construction of Public Hospital in Shahwali Kot District, Kandahar

The Taliban administration has announced the commencement of constructing a public hospital in Shahwali Kot district of Kandahar province, with the health center expected to be completed within the next 18 months.

The Taliban Ministry of Public Health stated that the project will be implemented at a cost of 40.5 million Afghanis. According to the ministry, the hospital is being built to provide healthcare services at the district level.

Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, acting minister of public health for the Taliban administration, said during the inauguration ceremony of this project that efforts to improve access to quality health services across the country, especially in remote districts, continue.

The construction of this health center begins amid significant challenges faced by residents of many remote districts, including a lack of medical facilities and the long distances to equipped health centers—services considered fundamental responsibilities of any governing system.
