Foundation Stone Laid for Shah Wali Kot Hospital in Kandahar

In response to the ongoing shortage of healthcare services in remote districts, the acting Minister of Public Health of the Taliban administration laid the foundation stone for a public hospital in Shah Wali Kot district of Kandahar province. This project is said to address part of the medical needs of residents in this district.

The Taliban Ministry of Public Health announced that the hospital will be built at a cost of 40.5 million Afghanis and that the construction process will take 18 months.

Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, acting Minister of Public Health, said at the project inauguration ceremony that efforts are underway to provide people across the country, especially in remote districts, with access to quality health services.

According to him, implementing such projects can improve the quality of healthcare in underserved areas and enable timely responses to the medical needs of residents.

The foundation stone ceremony was attended by tribal elders, local residents, and Taliban local officials. Shah Wali Kot district is one of the areas in Kandahar whose residents have long complained about limited access to specialized healthcare services.
