Taliban Authorities Destroy 504 Kilograms of Smuggled Goods in Nangarhar

Continuing trade restrictions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, 504 kilograms of agricultural and animal products smuggled through the Torkham route were seized and destroyed by Taliban authorities.

Sediqullah Quraishi, Head of the Information Department of Nangarhar’s Intelligence and Culture Directorate, stated that after legal procedures, the confiscated goods were dumped into a river in Lal Pur district.

The Nangarhar Directorate of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock also announced in a statement that the shipment was discovered and seized by staff at the Torkham quarantine management. According to the directorate, these goods were illegally brought into the country from Pakistan.

Nangarhar’s Agriculture Department emphasized the ban on trade exchanges between Afghanistan and Pakistan, affirming that under this decision, no individual is permitted to illegally import agricultural and animal products into the country.
