Hanifi Commends Doctors at Medical Ethics Conference in Afghanistan

A two-day scientific conference titled “Medical Ethics and Professional Responsibility” was held under the initiative of the Chief of Staff’s Health Affairs Command, attended by Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanifi, the Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office in the Taliban administration, along with several officials from the Ministries of Defense and Public Health and doctors from hospitals across the country.
The Ministry of Defense, in a press release, stated that during the meeting, Abdul Salam Hanifi expressed appreciation for the services of doctors, calling them “heroes of the health sector.” According to him, public trust in doctors has increased, and now the country’s medical personnel have the ability to perform the most complex surgical operations.
Hanifi also claimed that Afghanistan possesses medical staff that even some advanced countries lack. This comes while the health sector in recent years has faced serious challenges, including lack of facilities, migration of specialists, and structural limitations, with some citizens continuously complaining about the quality of services in certain areas.
Meanwhile, Dr. Mohammad Tahir Ahrar, Chief of Staff’s Health Affairs Commander, urged doctors to adhere to medical principles and ethics, to treat patients sincerely and honestly, and to work towards training more specialized personnel. He emphasized that the Ministry of Defense will support them under all circumstances.
The organizers stated that the goal of this seminar was to enhance the capacity of doctors, specialists, and health sector employees from various hospitals nationwide.
At the conclusion of the program, the Administrative Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office visited civilians who, according to the Taliban administration, were injured as a result of the “military regime of Pakistan’s bombing.”
