Helmand Delegation Visits Iran to Boost Trade and Economic Cooperation

A delegation led by Rahimullah Mahmoud, Deputy Governor of Helmand under the Taliban administration, has embarked on an official visit to South Khorasan Province in the Islamic Republic of Iran. The purpose of this trip is to expand economic, trade, and social cooperation between the two sides.

According to officials, the delegation includes not only local authorities but also representatives from the private sector and chambers of commerce. The participation of private sector members indicates that the main focus of these meetings is on developing commercial relations and creating new opportunities for traders from both parties.

Helmand province, located in southwestern Afghanistan, holds a significant agricultural and commercial position, while South Khorasan is one of Iran’s provinces bordering Afghanistan. Officials have expressed hope that this visit will pave the way for strengthening bilateral relations and increasing economic and social interactions between the two countries.
