First Licensed Online Taxi Service Launches in Kabul

The Directorate of Transport and Civil Aviation has announced the launch of the first officially licensed online taxi company operating in Kabul. According to the agency, this company, having received an official permit, offers urban transportation services to residents via an online platform.

Based on the information provided, the company named “Afghan Online Taxi” has started its operations in Kabul, allowing residents to request vehicles through a dedicated app or software. Officials have stated that the aim of launching this service is to provide greater convenience in the city’s transportation sector.

The Directorate added that issuing this license is part of efforts to modernize transportation services and support private sector investment. Kabul, as the capital and most populous city of the country, has faced significant challenges in managing urban transportation in recent years, and the introduction of online systems could address some of the citizens’ needs.
