Organic Fertilizer Distributed to 350 Families in Nangarhar to Boost Home Gardens

The Department of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock in Nangarhar province, in collaboration with the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and technical support from the ActionAid organization, has distributed organic fertilizer to 350 families in Lal Pur district. The initiative aims to promote healthy growth of home garden seedlings and improve their maintenance practices.

According to local officials, these aid efforts were carried out in close coordination with partner organizations, focusing on families that rely on home gardens to meet part of their food needs.

Home gardens in many areas of Nangarhar play a vital role in enhancing food security and increasing household income. Agricultural experts emphasize that the use of organic fertilizer can boost seedling yields and improve product quality.

FAO and ActionAid have previously implemented similar programs in the agricultural sector to support farmers in several provinces across the country.
