Taliban Officials Discuss Employment Opportunities Inside and Outside Afghanistan

The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior Affairs announced that Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, acting head of the ministry, met with Abdul Manan Omari, acting minister of Labor and Social Affairs, to discuss the creation of job opportunities both inside and outside the country. According to information released by the ministry, both parties emphasized increasing coordination between related departments and said that joint cooperation would be expanded to better regulate the process of sending workers abroad, as well as to manage the affairs of those who travel to and from Afghanistan. The meeting also highlighted the importance of facilitating work-related travel for Afghan citizens, a concern that is serious given the widespread unemployment across many provinces. However, the Taliban administration has not yet provided details on the practical aspects of these plans, the implementation mechanisms, or the number of job opportunities envisaged. In the absence of clear statistics and a defined program, citizens hope that the announced actions will lead to tangible results in various parts of the country.
