Taliban Ministry Pilots Academic Stream Selection for 11th Grade Students in Panjshir

The Taliban’s Ministry of Education has launched a new process for academic stream selection for students above the 10th grade, which is being implemented experimentally at Rokha High School in Panjshir province. This is the first time such a program is being carried out in the country, allowing students to choose their preferred field of study.

Saifuddin Laton, spokesperson for the Panjshir governor, stated that the aim of this initiative is to provide students with the opportunity to select academic streams that match their abilities and interests, preparing them better for higher education.

He added that the program is currently in its trial phase and, if successful, there is a possibility it will be expanded to other high schools.

However, local officials and the Taliban Ministry of Education have not yet released further details regarding the implementation process, selection criteria, or the timeline for evaluating the results of the program.
