Kabul Authorities Intensify Oversight on Urban Transport Fares

The General Directorate for Regulation of Urban Transport has announced that with the implementation of new measures, the monitoring of fares across various parts of Kabul city has been intensified. According to the agency, the aim of this action is to control pricing and improve the quality of transport services for the residents of the capital.

Officials from the directorate state that under the new program, continuous supervision of urban vehicles operating in different areas will be conducted to prevent the collection of excessive fares. As part of this plan, fares will be carefully reviewed.

It has also been emphasized that drivers are required to adhere to transport regulations and provide better and safer services to passengers. This comes amid ongoing complaints from Kabul residents in recent years about arbitrary fare increases and lack of effective oversight.

Urban affairs experts believe that sustained practical monitoring and addressing public complaints can play a significant role in improving the urban transport situation; a matter that is expected to be genuinely upheld by the Taliban administration in practice.
