Taliban says work on Chak-Daimirdad road in Maidan Wardak is progressing

The Taliban administration says construction work on the Chak-Daimirdad road in Maidan Wardak province is continuing in several areas, and the acting minister of public works has inspected the progress of the project.

According to the Taliban administration, the road is 60 kilometres long and starts from Chak district and extends to Daimirdad district in the same province. The statement said excavation, levelling and the construction of culverts are under way in different sections of the project.

The Taliban administration said Mullah Mohammad Eisa Thani, the acting minister of public works, visited Maidan Wardak with technical officials from the ministry and reviewed the implementation of the project. According to the administration, he instructed the implementation teams and the contracting company’s officials to speed up the work, ensure quality, use high-quality materials, increase machinery and complete the project on time.

The contracting company’s officials also pledged, according to the Taliban administration, to complete the project in line with technical specifications and within the set timeframe.

Maidan Wardak province lies on the transport route connecting Kabul with parts of central Afghanistan, and the roads in its districts are important for residents’ travel and local transport.
