Ansarullah Says Yemen Operations Will Continue Until Siege Is Lifted and Attacks Stop
Mohammed Abdulsalam, spokesman for Ansarullah and head of Yemen’s negotiating delegation, has said that the operations of Yemen’s armed forces will continue until Saudi attacks fully stop and the country’s siege is lifted.
He told Al Jazeera that shipping routes in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait are safe, and that, in Ansarullah’s view, there is no threat to international trade along these routes.
Abdulsalam also said Yemen has no ambitions toward neighboring countries or other parts of the world, and that the current operations of Yemen’s armed forces are being carried out in a “targeted” and defensive framework.
In another part of the development, Mahdi al-Mashat, head of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, announced that the situation in the western coastal areas has stabilized and that the amnesty decree is being implemented in areas under the control of the Sanaa government.
The Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait are among the region’s key shipping routes, and any security development in these areas affects commercial traffic across the region.
