Women’s Online University says 94 female students graduate in 11 provinces

The Women’s Online University said its third graduation ceremony for students was held simultaneously in person in 11 provinces of the country, an event focused on efforts to keep women’s education going amid the continued closure of university gates to girls.

The ceremonies took place on Saturday, 14 Sunbula, in different parts of the country, and students attended along with their families. In this round, 94 students who had joined the Women’s Online University part-time to continue their studies were honoured.

The graduates in this round completed studies in medicine, economics, journalism, law, psychology, language and literature, education, agriculture and Islamic studies.

The Women’s Online University was established four years ago after universities were closed to girls, with the aim of supporting girls who had been left behind by education. The institution now provides free education in 16 fields for more than 20,000 female students, with the cooperation and voluntary teaching of more than 1,000 professors.
