Engine of Ariana Boeing 737 Transferred to Kabul After Being Held in US Customs
The engine of a Boeing 737 airplane belonging to Ariana Afghan Airlines, which had been held up in the United States due to customs procedures, has been transferred to Kabul after the necessary formalities were completed.
According to company officials, the engine, valued at 2.3 million US dollars, was purchased from Global Engine and is planned to be installed on one of the Boeing 737 aircraft by a technical team upon arrival in Kabul.
Officials of Ariana Afghan Airlines claim that the transfer of this engine can help in the more regular operation of the company’s airplanes—a critical issue given the shortage of spare parts and technical equipment, which remains one of the serious challenges in the country’s aviation sector.
The company’s leadership also stated that efforts to procure other spare parts and necessary equipment for the aircraft continue. This initiative is fundamentally important to maintaining a minimal capacity for domestic and international flights amid technical and financial limitations.
