Acting Afghan Minister Visits Kabul–Jalalabad Highway Project Amid Construction Progress

The Acting Minister of Public Works of the Taliban administration has visited the construction site of the second lane of the Kabul–Jalalabad Highway, overseeing a 32-kilometer section within Kabul province. The Ministry of Public Works of the Taliban administration announced that simultaneously, construction is underway on 22- and 20-kilometer sections of the highway from Nangarhar province. According to the ministry, Mullah Muhammad Isa emphasized the importance of maintaining work quality and timely completion of the project during a meeting with the contracting company. The Taliban administration claims that upon completion, the project will significantly reduce travel challenges faced by residents and traders on this important transportation route. The Kabul–Jalalabad Highway is considered one of the country’s key transit routes and has faced serious traffic issues for years due to congestion and the narrow width of the road.
