Taliban Authorities Open New Health Center in Kunar Province
The Taliban-run Ministry of Public Health has announced the inauguration of the “Hill-Gul” health center building in Ghaziabad district of Kunar province. With the commencement of its operations, approximately three to five thousand local residents will gain access to healthcare services.
According to the ministry, the center was constructed at a cost of 8.9 million Afghanis with financial support from the International Organization for Migration (IOM). Local Taliban officials stated that once operational, the center will provide services in a “standard” facility to the people.
The opening ceremony was attended by Qari Muzaffar Khan Mukhlis, head of Kunar Public Health, along with several local officials. During the event, he emphasized the delivery of quality healthcare services and pledged that efforts to expand public access to healthcare in the province will continue.
The launch of this center comes amid persistent serious challenges to primary healthcare access in many remote districts across the country, where the establishment of such centers remains a fundamental necessity for residents.
